t-Case/Tranny

Im having a little problem. Is it possible that my transfer case fluid and tranny fluid cas mix? I drained almost 1.2 qrts from my transfer case. My tranny had only 2.4qrts in it, that maybe only due to its on level ground.

I called Shep trans. and John said that it is possible if the internal seal is bad. I called 3 different mitsubishi dealers and they said it not possible.

If it is posible has anyone changed the internal seal that would cause this? Also when i drained both of these they looked the axact same.

I would trust shep over any dealer. I know nothing about your problem, but I did just go to a dealer to have them drain and fill my t-case (cuz i got the death whine!) and I saw them using a flushing system, I knew something was wrong and approached the service advisor 3 times and told him that I thought the tech was doing something else. He ended up doing an ACD Flush, the service advisor knew he had screwed up since I had asked him THREE times about this. After he admitted to his mistake he had ME walk back and literally SHOW THE TECH what I wanted drained!!!! The Service advisors exact words," Sorry about that, I dont know that much about these cars". Greeeeaaaaat, lol.

Shep are experts at what they do, I would trust them any day over what the dealer says, especially about something to do with the drivetrain!

it's pretty easy to pinch the seal when putting the trans back together and that would cause the fluid mixture

Is there an internal seal in the passenger side that seperates the tranny fluid to the transfer case fluid?

Help me out peeps.

go to the mitsu dealer and have them print you out a a "part print out"from the tcase and transmission, take a look at it.

and try to figure it out. im sure you will find the seal like that.

Well i pulled the Tcase from the tranny but am having problems removing totally from the car, but both of those seals seem to be in good shape. Now im not sure what to do.

I have never torn apart the Tcase so i might just send it to Shep Trans for a stage 1 rebuild.
