Buschur pipe with CEL

I recently installed a test pipe from BR in place of my cat. I had thought that the Buschur midpipe already had a mechanical CEL fix welded in place, and I can tell that there is a spacer there. I had the pipe on for a good week+ with no CEL. Then, yesterday, I hit the track and ran it pretty hard for a while and after pulling off I noticed the light was on. It is staying on now.

My question is: should I get a de-fouler and that will fix the problem? If so will the de-foulers mentioned here in other threads work or is there a different part number required to work with the existing bushur fix?

Or is it simply that running at the track produces a larger quantity of particles then street driving due to higher constant revs and the sensor is now dirty? If that is the case should I clean it or just reset the battery?

Thanks a lot!

this might not be from the test pipe. Get a code reader. If you hit your limiter a couple of time it will throw a code.

Where is the stock limiter in the IXs? because it is not at 7000 or 7500 I dont thing. And unless it is truely a limiter (I thought there were two types of rev 'limiters' ones that limit a rev max electronically and others that simply cut the engine whenever a rev max is hit) I have not hit it. I only say this because I never hit a point where the motor sounded like it was being cut and you get the brap-brap-brap noise.

Regardless, should I just reset the battery to see if the code disappears and reappears or not?

I would be curious to see what the code is. Normally advanced will read it for free. Many things can cause a code.

If it is the rear o2 just disable it in the ecu. Then no worries about any antifouler etc..

reset the ecu by either disc the battery or pulling the ecu fuses for a few secs and see if it clears it, if not have the CEL code checked at auto zone

Yes, the first thing you need to do is read the code and make sure it's from the cat.

Thank you AMS for the read, ya it was a catalytic inefficency code... If I get a tactrix cable in combination with a generic OBDII read program, will I be able to analyze and erase codes like this from my laptop?

you can delete the code but it will probably come back. Just put an antifouler on it, much cheaper than a tactrix cable.

Yep! And with a tune I can turn that off for you.

I sell Tactrix cables for $90 shipped.

Cheers!
