Front Clunking noise

Before you tell me there is already a thread on this I have read all of them. The big one and all of the little ones. Here is my deal. I installed my clutch 2-3 weeks ago and prolly have 1500 miles on the setup now. I get a clunking noise when releasing the clutch out of first gear. And if i take the steering wheel and turn it back and forth really quick I can hear the clunk again. Also by pressing and releasing the throttle I can hear the sound. So I am thinking that it is not suspension, but rather drivetrain related....... I am lost. Its just getting worse.

I feel like I have checked everything. I checked all the suspension parts (even got it aligned and told them to check them) and then I thought maybe the damn transfer case was coming loose or something...... Nope. Its tight as it gets. Transmission is tight too and I tightened the flywheel and clutch bolts to the specified tq ratings. It was like 100lbs and 25 lbs (Exedy Twin).

when you replaced the clutch, did you drop the subframe down a little of anything? Maybe that isnt tight.
check your strut mounts, and ball joints.
Double check your motor mounts.
Make sure the downpipe inst touching aything, and is tight.
Is it only in first gear, or can you hear it when you shift and get back on the throttle?
Stand in front of the car and use the throttle cable to rev the car to get it to make the sound and see if you can pinpoint where it is coming from, or if the motor moves excessively(bad mount)

Hope this helps

Thanks,
Travis

Are you sure all these noises are related to the same problem?

sounds like a loose bolt to me, double check the motor mounts, sub-frame, strut bolts, basically everything you loosened up when removing the trans

Ok I found the problem. I didn't have any problem or noises for the first 2 weeks. Then it started and got to a peak where it didn't get any worse. There are bushings in the front motor mount and I didn't get these put back in. oops So the bolt was making a lound clunking noise in the motor mount. I took the mount and the frame piece off, put the bushings in and it was like magic. No more sound and I don't feel like throwing up every time I drive it.
