I haven't been looking up anything else today but for sale ads mostly. Trying to pick up a green. It was posted today that it will finally be available.

Well he just ordered a red too.Go figure.but hey He's bringing some great stuff to the evo community.

Sorry but honestly the cheapest talk in here is yours.
This is your second time posting on this thread using "run with the big boys" rhetoric on why this turbo isn't for you. If you have established that for yourself, why bother, unless you are going to share some technical explanation on why you don't think this turbo is right for anyone else as well?
"there are only three E85 stations in my entire state." You may want to double check your facts before you speak. As a matter of fact there are SEVEN e-85 stations in your state with three of them resided in Santa Fe alone (with two more scheduled to be built by 2009). So my reasoning for a larger turbo stands: to take adavantage of higher octane fuels that are only becoming more prevalent and cheaper. Less $ more power. If your not into that, we haven nothing in common and hence forth have no reason to discuss performance cars.

You're not in any position to give Indy advice. Do you know what he has done in the past few months since he's surfaced?

Oh well, guess I'll just run the IX for now and wait to see what comes out in the future. As fun as fast spooling high torque is, I think I still like the top end pull of a 70+ lb/min turbo better.

When is there going to be a thread about the 60lb/min mentioned by Robert???

Here's a little more graphing white vs 1580 with some flow data. If you think the 1580 is better by strictly looking at mass flow you would be very wrong. The 1580 is MAXED OUT, the white is not. Converted into volumetric flow the white is substantially higher at a lower PR and boost due toi the elevated inlet temps of the white. The cards are stacked in the 1580's favor via 25C cooler inlet temps, higher PR and boost pressure, but the white still kicks its *** in efficiency by a large margin. This is a maxed out 1580 vs a white cruising along. Note the exhaust pressures- THIS IS THE SAME TURBINE WHEEL AND EXACT SAME EXH HOUSING!!!

Here's the same strip chart but with data displayed in a different way, the vertical cursor in the strip chart above now shows up as two crosshairs. I see this by clicking the tab on the above screen called Mixture Map (scatter graph). This is NOT a true efficiency calculation (I2 will not accept the maths) but something we call Simple Efficiency, it works good to see how things are in transition and live. The 1580 has nosedived, the white has another few lb/min to go before it hits the wall.

How much does this new Red flow? It put down 530 but at 38lbs... that much boost obviously would require a fully built car... i dont see the red making good power on stock motor cars/ lower boost levels say 28-30 psi ??

GrocMax, what caused the 25C inlet temps? was it hotter that day? or the turbo is making the IAT hotter?

Good luck with the sale Indy, that green should move very quickly mate.

Exciting times ahead, are you going a cam with the new purchase? With your exact set up being a DD, that should have some mumbo in the midrange .

Please keep us updated with the new mani/White combo, lucky you.

Cheers Steve

That is COMPRESSOR inlet, not IAT. 56C vs 33C at point of cursor, and more delta than that earlier.

Hot day.
