blew motor, suggestions?

hi guys, i have a 05 evo 8 that i just put my green turbo kit in about 3 weeks ago. got it tuned, made 370whp then a week later, i was curious what the top speed would be so i ran it on the high way and at about 5k rpm range doing 155mph my engine gave out. so... found out there was no compression on cyl 4 and after taking the head off found the piston on cyl 4 melted and it did some dmg on the cyl wall as well. everything in the motor was stock so i am now thinking of what routes i could take to get this motor running like before. im planning to keep the motor stock so i am attempting to find a short block. is there another way to fixing this other than replacing the block? i was told that the cyl wall dmg is beyond repair so i decided to go ahead and try to find a used short block. any suggestions or anyone selling theirs? thx

If the wall is damaged your best bet would be to replace the block.

How scared are the Cylinder walls? This sounds like a perfect excuse to machine it, and get some after market internals. I'd strip the block down first and take it to a local machine shop and let them look at it.

Remember opinions are like *******s, everyone has them and some really stink. Let a pro machinist tell you if you can get away .20 bore.

what air/fuel ratios were you running. Was it a bad tune at kcperformance?
your engine should have been fine at 150mph in a stock block with only a green turbo.

i just was informed that BP gas in the missouri area was tainted with deisel fuel by accident. By chance if you used BP gas you could very well have a claim against them. they said they will fix any motors affected by it.

Sorry to hear about your engine but let me be the first to ask:

Why were you driving 155mph on a public highway?

i just went out and bought a 2.0 stock short block from slowboy racing. probly solved ended up paying 2500 plus 300 for shipping... lesson learned i guess, i won't be doing anything over 120 from now. i believe i blew the motor because of the way i drive. i stomp on it and redline daily. i have issues i know haha but i've learned it the hard way.
