Car shakes at idle with AC on.
I know i've seen a few threads on this topic before but the search cuts off any words less than three letters. Starting a couple of days ago my car would shake violently at idle whenever the ac is on. It doesn't do it when I only turn on the fan so it might be compressor related. When I'm driving and turn on the AC its fine until I shift gears. When I shift gears with the ac on I have to be fast because If I leave the clutch down too long the rpms go down to almost zero and wants to stall. Some people stated they experienced this with the front engine mount but I've had it for over six months and it only started 2 days ago. This also isn't a little vibration it is a violent shake where you can definately notice the change in engine behavior if your outside the car. The AC cools just fine. Any advice on how to start to diagnose this issue?
The idle should pick up when the ac goes on...my guess is that the automatic switch that controls that isn't working--so ac comes on, loads the engine, drops the idle and theres your problem..
I say normal too. You have cams...what do you idle at? I raised my idle to 900-1000. If I turn on my A/C at idle things drop to like 700 and gets rough. I don't think you necessarily have a problem unless something is wrong with the compressor...like something is loose. But I dunno. This sounds like my car lol.
And when I had a 350Z and turned on the A/C at idle the same thing would happen. So to me this doesn't sound serious unless your idle is already set high (>1k).

Im guessing the OP just started using the AC for the year. If you havent used the AC since the last time you disconnected the battery. These EVOS really take some time to relearn (If you will) idle. Its seprate idle settings for AC on and off too. So it'll have to relearn regular idle and AC on idle. I expierience this in my car quite often it'll get better
