9sec9/OKIX's EVO, ROUND TWO!
Not a bad weekend, new sponsors, win the dyno day for stock appearing turbo, set low et for Stock Appearing Evo, and win the race. Great job Team Powell you will have to let us know how it went with the slicks.
Trent, sorry I did not get to see you before I left, I was feeling pretty bad and had to get back to the hotel. Left this morning at 5 AM. How did you do? and thanks for helping Tony with the clutch.

Thanks to everyone on the well wishes. We got the opportunity to meet so many people that the racing was NEARLY secondary. To the CFT crew. WOW. You guys are some of the nicest guys on earth. I truly mean that. Victor, Big Valley, Oscar...I'm proud to say that I've found some new friends. A very special thanks to Oscar (Raceman) for helping us in the staging lanes as well as working with Tony in the water and lights. Oscar is a fine young man and deserves all of the best that life can give him. I'm proud to call you 'friend'. We also met so many people...John (Jester Tuning), CWill, Chad (CBRD), Chris (Mellon), Big Valley, Tym Switzer (again), LilRico, Cache, Brian (Most Wanted) and his beautiful wife (sorry, I forgot her name), Robert Young and Aniel, this list just keeps going... An incredible weekend for us and our results just keep getting better. My family and I got to see our highest mph ever and our quickest et ever. We won the Evo Stock Appearing Dyno Competitioin with 548 whp and 535 wtq on the Buschur Dyno. We also won the Evo Stock Appearing Class with 5 runs over 140+, with our best of 141.67. That's nearly 142 mph on a STOCK APPEARING TURBO!!! The RED ROCKS! The torque was a real problem for us with the drag radials. 535 lbft of torque on launch is not easy to control.
First pass, we lit up the tires. 10.66 at 133mph. Basically a shakedown run.
Second pass, same two step setting, but 10.75 and 140.97 mph.
Third pass I lowered the two step by 400 rpms (6100) and the car only made 6 psi on launch, but we still went 10.41 I think at 140 or so.
I should also say that I lowered our boost to 7 psi less than we made on the dyno competition. Todays passes were all made at 35 psi max. The reason was the tires couldn't hold the torque. On the very first pass, Tony came back and said the car was squirrely when he went to 4th gear. The logs clearly showed tire spin after he shifted to fourth gear and got to about 116-120 mph. That was a shocker.
Finally, I raised the 2step back to 6400 and still didn't have the boost I wanted. Then I raised it to 6500 and I'm sure there's lots of videos of the tiresmoke on three of the rounds in eliminations. It looked like he was doing a burnout to warm the tires. I just left it that way, since nothing was helping. 3 or 4 times, Tony gave 4-6 cars on the launch due to tirespin, but then drove around them to get the win.
Best ET today was 10.25 and best mph was 141.67, backed up 5 times with 140 and 141+ runs. Car shows a lot of potential and the best is yet to come. Thanks to all of the well wishers and thanks to Buschur Racing for such a great event.

It was a pleasure meeting you. You and your family are a true inspiration. We look forward to seeing you when you make the Florida trip. Have a safe trip home.
Brian and Andreia
Thanks Brian and ANDREIA. I really enjoyed our conversations and sincerely look forward to making a trip to Florida. My family has already started planning the trip. Guess we gotta go now. Tony would like to see Oscar make a pass in our car and so would I, so we'll be planning something in September or October probably. Thanks again for the invitation and we'll see you again soon. Hope you have a safe trip home.

To all of the EvoM community...Oscar means what he says. His heart is good. Thanks Oscar. When Tony said he wanted you to take the car down the track, he was speaking for both of us. I'll call you next week.
