Are there 2 version of the Invidia o2 housing?

I am in the middle of an exhaust project on my 06MR. I am wondering if there are more than one version of the indivia o2 housing that I purchased. The box said evo8. The fitment is a PITA. None of the nuts/bolts can be tightened with the thing in the car. I had to remove the entire turbo esembly to get to the nuts/bolts with an open end wrench.

Not only that the 'lower stud' of the turbo is actually 2 or 3 mm longer than the space provided by the o2 housing and I had to shave off 2 threads worth of the stud so that I could actually tighten the housing there, otherwise the bolt bottomed out against the housing and the gasget wouldn't properly get tightened down.

Have others had the same issue?
Do I have an old version?
Is it worth the hassle considering I had the Tomei Expreme o2 housing on there?

Thanks
M

I know I have alway removed my turbo assembly to install a O2 house. As for the bolt/stubs I am not sure.....easy fixs though....like you did just shave them off. Or you haven't done anything yet you should call Invidia and ask them......

Read Buschur's test of O2 housings. His Invidia didn't fit, either.

I looked for the test on their site. If you have a link handy could you post it here. I am trying to do some research before I continue installing this nightmare....

Also, Can anyone comment on weather the invidia is worth the trouble over the Tomei that I already have. The invidia is slightly larger, but only barely.

And yes I have already ground down the protruding stud a bit, so fitment is set, just thought I would post it in case anyone thinks (like I did) that this would be a simple bolt on half day project. The invidia doesn't even allow space for any wrench of socket of the nuts. So you have to use an open end wrench with the whole thing out of the car. Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have bought it. So maybe that will help folks decide if they read this. IF people have installed that while the turbo was in the car, I would love to hear about and how they did it (what tools etc).

Thanks
