I think Al is using a T4, this will be a T3 but in essence yes its the same turbo. i know he has his set-up posted in his thread. I can ask him and see what the major differences are from a stock type 6765 to his.

Finally got enough time to drop the block off to the machine shop. I should have it back in about 2-3 weeks.

Al

I think it is just not tightened up, looks as though he threaded it mostly out but did not remove it.

Thanks. This project is still in its fun stage. I hate to see so much money leave the door but it should be fun when its all done and complete...well as complete until I crave more power. Im trying to do this with a set budget in mind, excel has owned my life in the last 5 weeks.

I really need to spend some time in the garage this weekend and rip out the A/C but I need to find a place that will capture the 134 thats still in the lines. Id hate to vent it to the atmosphere.

Things to come this weekend:
-Gut the rest of the interior
-Bring roll cage person over for a quote
-Start stocking up on Q16 before VP gets too out of hand.
-Bring machine guy dinner so he can start work on the engine sooner than expected
-Go to Devo this weekend to check out the driveshaft

I may have missed it, but are you only doing honing on the block or are you blueprinting and balancing at the machine shop?

Its getting bored .020 over, obviously a new hone job, file fitting rings, re-assembly of the short block, decking, balancing, and Ill be getting a blueprint card from him for the oil clearances and what not. I forgot to ask him about an o-ring job. Ill be going back there this friday to drop off the bearings.

Good stuff... I look forward to seeing the results. Is this costing you less money than just shipping the block to Buschur for a built block?

I think BR is right around 3k for a block shipped back and forth, just the work and parts being put into it will be just under 2k. Some of the engines that are in his shop right now are probably worth more than I make in a year. He was referred to me by a good friend who is very meticulous on hios own builds, so this machine shop seemed like the right choice. He has built quite a few 4G63 motors over the years. He asked a ton of questions about turbo size, boost levels, HP output, etc. We went though the piston and rod boxes to see if everything will balance out correctly and he said it all looked like it should be a fairly easy build.
