plz help

okay so i know your all going to rip me apart and say i shouldv searched or looked around or something but i did now this just comes down to what i should do and needing help by a bunch of fine gentlemen who know exactly what to do.

so i have a pretty much stock 2004 evo VIII with a TBE greddy BOV and a br hotside nothing special...my problem is my clutch is GONE im waiting for it to just not go in gear any day now and i need a new one. now im planning on upgrading the clutch and the car very soon. my performance upgrades will be a new fuel pump a test pipe a new engine mount roll stopper a full tune and maby some other small little go fast bits. but i need a new clutch and i cannot decide weather i should go with the fidanza 3.2 carbon kevlar or maby an exedy or what. now i drive around town ALOT LIKE A CRAPLOAD of stop and go and also a reasonable amount of highway but i dont really auto x or anything like that(besides the normal abuse on some twisty curves) and i dont really track or drag it but id like a clutch that will last me and will hold the power and maby some launches if i do decide to drag.

any suggestions and help is appreciated mods if you need to move go ahead but i think im in the right section... THANKs PLZ HELP

There's been a lot of talk about the Quartermaster Twin Plate Clutch from DevoTuning. You can get one from Devo for about the same price as the Exedy Twin HD and the Quartermaster already comes with the hydraulic throw out bearing conversion.

You can pick one up here...

http://devotuning.com/store/index.ph...products_id=36

Also, some pretty good info here...

But honestly, if you don't drag the car and it's mainly a DD, you're probably better off getting an ACT Street Disc setup. Unfortunately, you run into that infamous hit or miss issue with the high rpm lockouts. Clutch discussions always tend to open up that can of worms again and again.

Exedy Twin HD Cerametallic unless you never plan to really use the car at which point I'd just get a stocker.

Exedy stage 1. Almost exactly the same as stock, just a little better.

Maybe into the 4s? You will barely be at 300whp with those mods, so a stock clutch should last you for tons of miles if you don't race.

Exedy Twin HD can take any abuse and is not difficult to drive, much less impossible. There are plenty of single disc organics out there, but I am not fond of any of them.

I own an exedy twin disc with a few more mods than you and i could not be more happy. This clutch has taken whatever i have thrown at it and im not easy on it haha; I do a lot of in town driving as well. If you plan on doing any launches at all then i would say the exedy is your clutch. I plan on being in the 315 to 320 whp range, and this clutch is not really hard to drive once you get a feel for it. Yes it is expensive but it beats having to replace a new clutch after a handful of pulls again. Hope that helps.

does anyone experience any high rpm lockouts with the act and does anyone have any problems with the exedy maby at a higher mileage?

I just put in an act sprung 6-puck with the HD pressure plate 2-months ago so far love it. I wanted to go with the exedy twin disk just couldn't afford it at the time. The best price i got on the 6-puck was from Chris at nolimitmotorsport. PM him you can find him in the vendors for sale i think it was less than $500 shipped

Cool. A lot of people have had good luck with that clutch. Hope the lockout monster does not get you.
