Question about ported manifold and 10.5 Hotside?

I recently installed the PPI ported and Swaintech Coated Exhaust Manifold, 10.5 Hotside, Megan O2 housing, along with a EVO IX turbo. The exhaust now seems much louder. My question is this because a lot of restriction has been taken out of the exhaust system? Has anyone else installed these parts and noticed a difference? The reason I am asking is because since installing these parts I have been pulled over twice for the exhaust being too loud and had never been pulled over before. Thanks for the help.

You could inspect the "seams" where each part bolts together and look for leaks... I did 02 housing, and TBE with resonated test pipe all at once, car came with the 10.5. Other than the ported and coated manifold mine is similar enough... not been pulled over for noise.

Did you get pulled over getting on it or is it that loud all the time?

Wow. Hard to describe it over the net, but I'd be wondering if there was a leak somewhere if its that loud!

Did it seem loud to you before you were pulled over? Like after installing you noticed the difference
Only asking because i know MD is very tight with the laws. Suppose to be like the worst right next to Virgina no?

Well I guess tomorrow I am going to tighten everything down again and see if that makes any difference. I didn't really notice a substantial difference in noise and the car is no where as loud as a harley. The city police here are a pain in the a$$ when it comes to tint and exhaust, so I need to get something figured out quick.

Well torqued down everything on the exhaust system this morning and the car is still just as loud as before. I guess I will have to start looking into what options I have to quiet this thing down. I have heard that putting on a magnaflow muffler can quiet things down, anyone have any feedback on this? It currently has an Apexi muffler on it.

I run a silencer on my exhaust tip, it helps some!

I see that AMS Performance sells an exhaust tip silencer, has anyone used this one? I plan on giving them a call later today to see if there will be any fitment issues with my setup. I might also look into a high flow cat, I purchased the vehicle with its current exhaust setup and think that it may have a test pipe made to look like a cat which could be contributing to the problem.
