Since you already have the cast kit I would just upgrade. If you were to buy new then tubular all the way.
I mean you should be able to upgrade your kit to the HTA 35 for 1700, just the cost of the turbo.
Less then half the cost of the upgrade to the tubular kit where all you can re use is the LICP, lines, and WG. But Remember you only live once get what YOU want not someone else.

well i already have both, the cast kit is currently on the car, just need to get the hta35r. im trying to see what benefits and if its actually worth swapping the kits out? everyone says the tubular is good for a little better power up top, by how much is this, 20whp, 30, 40 etc? and is the trade off in spool and tq worth the extra power up top?Originally Posted by whitey4d

You have a stroker so you obviously care about tq over highway HP. Stay in the same mindset and run the cast kit.
2.0 = high revver = tube
2.3 = torque = cast
2.0 = high revver = tube
2.3 = torque = cast

that does make sense, i will be drag racing it but only probably 10-20% of the time. mostly have to race against v8's around here so i need to keep up lol. i know the cast kit does not flow as much air as the tubular, could this be a drawback since i have the 2.3 which obviously pushes more air? also, ive heard that going with one of the larger ported intake mani's is not worth it on the cast mani since it does not flow as much air and ends up becoming a restriction. I read these 500+whp pump gas evo posts from mr. buschur everyday and the general trend seems to be that all these cars have HTA turbos (35r, 37r, HTA88 etc.), BR race fmic, bf272 cams, aem ems. Some have COPs some dont, some have tubular manifolds, but not all I think. So, it would be safe to assume that in the quest for 500+ whp on pump gas, the route would be the above mentioned products. I have yet to see so many non HTA 35r cars make 500+whp on pump gas, be it tubular or cast manifold.
well i have all the "necessary" mods, but all i need to do is finalize a turbo decision (today). i keep going back and forth, the tq and spool up of the cast seems nice especially since i live at high elevation, but the extra power of the tubular kit is attractive as well. the risk with the tubular is how much extra power i can make, whether its 30whp or 50+whp, obviously the lower it is, makes the decision not worth it.
