loss in power after LICP?

I installed the ebay AMS knockoff LICP, the fitment was good, and during a test drive the pipe at the intercooler popped off since I forgot to tightened the coupling. After I tightened it, and did another test drive, it seems like there was a loss in power. The boost and power doesn't come on as quick as it used to when I had the OEM licp. Is it possible that the aftermarket LICP would decrease power? Lastly, I need to order some T-bolt clamps. What sizes did you guys order for the LICP?

Most likely you have created a boost leak - this is very common with lfmic pipes

it looks like boost leak. I just installed my ETS LICP and I love it. Boost creeps in early and quicker. I installed my LICP w/ t-bolt clamps and everything is good to go.
I had a little bit of a problem installing it while under the car. I dont have a undertray on so I was able to get the pipe on there. Once I get my ETS intercooler I'll reposition it nice and proper.

actually, it was just in my head. my fiance test drove it herself (her car), and she said that it did noticeably spool quicker. I did, however, order some T-bolt clamps from ebay for the LICP (siliconeintake.com did not have the kit in stock). I think I'll order a T-bolt clamp for the throttle body as well since that is the biggest diameter pipe, most prone to popping off.

Good to hear it was just in your head. I'm about to order one of these Ebay LICP as well. I already have the Samco upgraded silicon hose kit which uses hose clamps and I haven't had a problem with them popping off. As long as you tighten them, then re-tighten AFTER they heat up, you're fine.

I don't know why everyone swears by t-bolt clamps. I've seen bent IC pipes because someone OVER-tightened t-bolt clamps. As long as the pipes are beaded, you should be fine.

What's the difference between installing a LICP with or w/o tuning?
