Question What turbo, HELP needed

Hi All

I need a really help here.
I need a new turbo for my VI and I have following alternatives:
- TME
- 8MR
- 9GT
- FP Green
I want to run stock IX internals (maybe forged rods)
No more than 400hp is needed and quickest possible spool is welcomed

What would you recommend? I´m at the stage of collecting stuff before winter so we can start to work on the engine

Cheers

Fastest spool = TME
Most flow and potential power = Green

which one is more important to you.

Lets say something in between?
As I wrote - I don´t want more than 400
We are compiting with the car in hill climb racing so basically spool is important
peak HP not too much, better is to have goon numbers trought the revs (suits me)

There is a guy on here who is into that kind of stuff. Search Pikes Peak and I am sure you will find his posts. Depending on what altitudes you will be seeing you might need to go with atleast the green from what I understand.

if you want quick spool, try Forced Performance's White EVO 9 turbo. Apparently, that turbo was designed to offer the fastest possible spool within a IX turbo frame/housing.

Yep, thats who I was talking about. There might be a few other guys into it on here too, I just recalled him for some reason. I for one don't know anything about hill climbing so I wouldn't be of any help to ya.

Dave k runs hillclimbs here in colorado. Our average elevation is doulbe this guys hills lol I think you would be fine with any of those choices. The problem davek ran into is the super thin air from 9000 to 14000 ft

But, I think I'd go with a TME or a white, should be a good turbo either way. Results on the fp white were not stellar....but that was coming from a ix. From a previous gen evo, the reuslts should be a nice step up

Well it is like road rally to the hill
Short so huge turbo lags are non welcommed
Wider revs range with high tourge is good to have so you can disapeer from the curve

this will give you an idea how the style shall look like

Well the TME or the IX has good price.
I will be in US in few weeks so I can take one home with me.
FP has larger potential no issue there, but it is most expensive as well.
TME is allmost identical to what I have at the moment (RS2 has same turbine)

Can I get in US the IXGT version or you have just the standard GSR?

Man that looks fun

Like was already said, being at the lower elevations you won't need to go with the Green. The FP White should be the turbo for what you are doing, if it performs like it should.

edit: actually I run a White Rabbit 9 now and I think it would be great for that. Instant spool up and increased flow from an IX turbo. Make sure its a WR9 though and not a WR8.
