Options for axle back exhaust

What options are out there for an axle back exhaust? All I am finding is the Works, and Pruven Performance.
I think getting the Works exhale is like a big billboard telling the dealer your ECU is mod'ed.
Pruven Performance looks and sounds good on the web site. Does any one have it?

Yep. I have it. It is a very nice and easy to install exhaust. Sounds good also.

didnt pruven actually said that you a lose couple lbs of boost with their axleback muffler?that means you still have to buy a boost controller.

Buschur has one coming out real soon. Another option is going to your local muffler shop and have them make you a custom axel-back piece. I can't imagine that wouldn't cost that much.

This is exactly what I was thinking of doing per my other post here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=36163

Anyway, it looks like it would be pretty simple for a muffler shop to extend the piece after removing the stock axle back. I've heard that it isn't really that loud with the muffler totally removed, and extending the pipe so it exits approx where stock exits would quiet it a little more (no reverberations below car). People have posted that removing the muffler altogether is worth about 10 HP peak (Shiv did this I believe), so an axle back or this custom job should be about the same.

Thoughts?

Yes, they (Pruven) say you loose boost with the axle back and with a test pipe. I don't think this is a bad thing. Since there is less back pressure more boost gets in the motor lowering the pressure in the intake manifold where boost is measured.
Pruven has a dyno with +12hp for the axle back.

We also have our axle backs ready to ship. They are, like all of our other parts, 100% 304 mandrel bent stainless. We use the same hand built muffler that we use on our full 3" systems for the car. We also offer our axle backs in 2.5" and 3". The 2.5" axle back weighs in at only 6.4#'s. That is a 13.6# savings over stock.

We can ship them immediately and both the 2.5" and 3" sell for only $260.

Awesome. Will this eventually adapt to your full 3" turbo-back without a neck-down? If not, it might be worth it to just save up and get the TBE all at once.

I am sorry, I mean an AXLE back is just a waste of money. You need a DP and a Cat back to make power, what you are buying is a Fart Pipe, hondas do this for $50 from PEP Boys.

No point in an AXLE back, just remover your muffler if you want, or Get a complete cat back from buschur for a lil over $300, rather then $300 for a AXLE back.

12 HP at the wheels is no Honda fart pipe! The Cat back doesn't do any better than the axle back according to Works and Pruven. The big 3 inch exhaust all the way back will really shine with bigger mods.

The axle back gains as much as a full cat back. For some people this is a nice thing.

I drove with the buschur axle-back(it was developed on my car). My butt-dyno definitely says that it makes a difference, the stock muffler has a rather serpentine path for flow...
