I'm assuming you checked your coolant level right?

Wow. Where to begin?

Lets start with coolant (mixed with distilled water). Check your overflow tank and add as necessary.

If that doesn't work let's try the radiator cap and thermostat. Those are cheap and easy to replace.

If that doesn't work, check the water pump (this is more advanced). Based on your current knowledge I'd say go with a pro on this one.

If that doesn't work, check for the milky stuff on your dipstick. If present, change your headgasket, oil and coolant.

If all of the above doesn't work, buy an electric car.

Def one of these, or your radiator fan. Make sure its turning on.

Check your grounding! If you have an aftermarket gauge you will see that the temps are fine. The stock gauge will read high when the second fan comes on at about 97 deg celcius. When the fan comes on the sensor does not get a good ground and reads high.

Get some cheap 4awg black wire and ring terminals, ground the battery to the chassis ground points near the headlight and near to the battery.

Cheap fix for an annoying problem.

This is all assuming your rad/fan/waterpump is OK.
