Question Exedy Twin HD...Throw out bearing came off the fork!

Exedy Twin HD...Throw out bearing came off the fork!
I was doing pull at 2nd gear around 60mph then when I tried to shift to 3rd gear my clutch was still on the floor
We got the throw out bearing back to fork but we noticed the retaining clip wasn't there anymore

We are gonna pull down my tranny this weekend.

Can I order that from any parts store or do I have to get it from Exedy?

Any tips or suggestions to avoid popping it off?

We have been putting 4-5 of the wave springs in. Takes some good skill to pop the clip next time you pull the trans, but have not had one pop apart since this mod. Worst case if you cant get the clip you can just unbolt the pressure plate.

Thanks Lucas. Can you tell me what makes it better by putting a lot of wavy springs....more tension?

Should I get a new Throw out Bearing also or just re-used it?( It has over 18k miles now)

The Tilton and QM are both push style and AMS/Exedy just came out with a push style.

When you shift fast the the return motion of the TB will have enough force that it will return past its normal stopping place and unclip its self. The springs just make it harder to unclip. On my car I also run a stop so the fork cant over travel but you have to adj it every so often so you dont end up pre loading the clutch.

one thing i noticed when installing my twin was that the ring that goes around the retainer clip from my ACT clutch was much stiffer than the one that was provided with the exedy

i used the one from the ACT

That is excellent information.

I wonder is ACT will sell the clip on its own.
