Help on setting SAFC II

Hi,

I need some advice. I just hook up a SAFC II on my car. I setup using the SAFC with settings found on the Forum.

Well, the car runs just fine with no problem. The only question is when I drive the car, I felt that it won't pull as hard as before.

So I was hoping if anyone with SAFC II setup can guide me. My mod list include :

HKS intake kit
Ground cable kit

The SAFC setting is :
Sensor : Karman
cyl : 4
Arrow : up

TIA.

First thing first, because the S-AFC does not adjust timing, it does not really raise torque very much (if at all). Therefore, you won't feel the car pull as much as you would think 20-30 hp gain is supposed to feel. You always feel torque more than than hp. Make sense? Still, your S-AFC is probably not set up right.

BTW, you have mail (pm)

yah you should have zero difference then if the afc was bypassed, if all points are set to zero. I really wish someone could explain to me the art of tuning afc's i'm a fast learner and only need to know the basics the rest will come through trial and error...... what should we tune for as far as readings

As far as what readings? You can't really put an SAFC on a car without a wideband unless someone else has already done it. The SAFC won't give you more torque; it will give you more power band (by means of holding the torque to higher rpm). Once you have it dialed in, you should be able to rev up into the 7k rpm range before shifting without losing time. As it is stock, you are pretty much dead after 5500.
Make sure you are only editing the HI throttle table. If you need help setting it up, call me tommorow. Phone numbers on my main page.
