Hey y'all, picking up an evo that has been sitting in the SAME spot for 3 years. it has not been started.

the car only has around 10,000 miles and is in good shape before. after charging the battery it started right up but I don't really want to risk an engine seize if #1 the fuel is bad #2 the oil is completely done.

now, my plan was to buy the car and drive it at 1500 rpm to a shop less than a mile away to flush the oil, tranny oil... etc.

what else do you suggest i do?

or do you think even driving that 1 mile is risky?

thanks y'all

If your that worried just flatbed the car to the shop. Like you said it's only 1 mile away. The tow bill should be very reasonable. My personal opinion though is unless there is something mechanically wrong with the car you aren't risking damage.

dont drive it or start it. get rid of that fuel/oil/coolant and get all fresh fluids in there. if it was me, i would put a little oil down each cylinder too

You already started it, so the oil is now through the motor again, and any damage that would have occurred from a poor starting procedure has already happened. Driving it one mile at a leisurely pace won't make any difference at all. It will just start to get the oil warm enough to drain well...
