There is nothing special about using Kelford 272's on an Evo 8. We have installed and tuned 20 or so sets.

Supertech singles and retainers kit recommended. In stock ready to ship along with Kelfords.

Supertech duals are not recommended for street cars due to accelerated valvetrain wear.

There is no such product or company named "supertects".
OWNED lol... but i didnt know that the duals accelerate valvetrain wear good info tanks man tanks... lol

What about the "E" version? It's a 280/272 cam, just like the Cosworth M3s.

What would be your choice for a 9, and why?

Thanks
S2's are plenty big for pretty much anything. As Greg has pointed out in the other Big cam threads the S3 or "E" (if you were to buy a kelford) require serious springs, will probably lose power down low, and not make for a very fun street car. The high lift of the 280 is about the limit for a stock head without machining and altering things I have been told by GSC.

There is no way anyone can answer that question, in part because the outcome depends upon you.

I appreciate all of the comments as it's getting easier and easier to see the "right" direction for my plans. Like most have already said, it's always in one's favor to do things the right way the first time. It doesn't necessarily pay to go the cheap route overall.

I'm excited to put my cams in! I hope I didn't go wrong by getting the 280/272s on stock turbo!

So youre saying the dual supertechs that AMS recommended and put in my car "knowing it is a daily driver" are going to prematurely wear out my valvetrain ?!?! Do give me more information on this as in how prematurely they wear etc. Very interested in this....

I just checked with AMS and not to worry ... The supertech duals will not prematurly wear your drivetrain. What they will do is give you added protection of vavles hitting pistons... and the ability to hold more agressive camshafts and RPM.
