Question Oil Dipstick

There are 2 notches on mine. Does the top one mean full or top off, and the bottom one mean empty. TIA

There is 1 qt betwen the notches. If at the lowest marker add oil to the upper marker.

The notches just show the tolerable low and high points for oil. It's simple: Don't let the oil level fall outside of the notches.
