Should I get headstuds or can I wait?
I am installing Brain Crower 280 cams, a fuel pump, injectors, and an exhaust. I will be getting tuned at 23ish psi and Wont be at the strip but once every couple months at most. Do I need headstuds or can I wait until I go to a red?
TIA

1st - The head does not come off the car when you install cams
2nd - you do not need head studs on an Evo IX running 23 psi
I run 31 psi on stock headstuds with no problem.
If you are running less than 25psi you absolutley don't need head studs.

One other Question...Do I really need the injectors. I am not trying to max the car out...just want something a little faster than what I have now!

Do not get them unless you pull your head off of the block. Stock studs work pretty well unless your running well over 23 psi. But for some reason you have already pulled the head (as noted above, cam install does not require head to be pulled) then go ahead and install the arps, why install stock when you can install arps right?

You know what get them now since you plan on doing a red down the road. At least if you do the studs now one less thing for you to worry about later and when you get the red you can just bolt it on and take your injectors to your local shop have them install the injectors and retune u for the red. So yes to studs now no to the injectors unless your running E85 or bigger turbo then stock 9

Head studs are cheap insurance , injectors can be scaled back, why not get them now so you can turn up the boost later on? I am from the mind frame of "do the mods that protect the motor first, then build power later" Just my .02 worth.

Exact same mentality as me. If you are going to be in the engine, why not just do them? No you don't NEED them at 23 lbs of boost, but eventually if you are going to do it, you might as well just do it now. It won't hurt anything, it will actually help. They cost a whopping $99 bucks. Cheap insurance IMHO!

. You dont need them untill you upgrade your turbo, your running E85, or your running out of fuel up top
Enjoy
