AC took a dive...HELP

Sup yall. i hope that this is the correct section for this. eitherway, i was driving the other night with the AC on and it was blowing ice cold. The very next day i get on the interstate and when i turned on the AC on it blew cold for a few minutes then it just started blowing hot air?!? I took it to a friends shop and here is what I know;
*** Fans work
*** AC lines were full and still had/have pressure
*** We checked ALL of the fuses and relays
*** He was able to turn the compressor by hand so it isnt locked up (I guess)
*** He got a wiring diagram and it showed two leads going to the compressor. According to the wiring diagram ONE of the leads is supposed to read POSITIVE while the other reads NEGATIVE. FOR SOME REASON both of my wires were reading POSITIVE?!?
*** He is thinking that maybe the AC clutch is gone bad or the temp sensor inside the compressor is bad. Eitherway, it looks like I will need a new AC compressor

Do yall have any other ideas or suggestions that i can try or look for before i buy a new compressor? ATL HEAT+NO AC=

Pressure switch is on the pass side of the car off the AC line. Mine has been doing the same thing and after ruling out the temp switch it appears to be the AC clutch not engaging despite getting a signal.

thanks. Which one of the two are on the pass side of the car? The pressure switch or the temp switch?

My AC just recently blew up on me - sucker seized up and make quick work of my serpentine belt - 80$ flatbed ride and 20$ AC-delete belt from napa was the cure.

Sorry for not clearing that up. The dual pressure switch is on the pass fender area on the ac line. I don't have my diagram at the moment to see where the temp switch is but it could be contained in the AC ecu.
