There are a few suppliers of custom TI rods for the EVO. I know of a couple motors running them. For the TI rods alone you can expect to pay $2500-$3500 . . .

The Cosworth pistons are produced in-house. They have their own special process for making them. Aby knows what the process is called, as he told me (but I forgot).

+1 that's funny. On a serious note though the 2.3rr has gone up to 9100 on that car from denmark.

K1 told me that their parts are manufactured in China and finished in the USA. I have seen their rods and the finishing on them is worse than the Eagles or Manleys. Their 4G63 crankshaft looks good though but requires custom fitting of main bearings due to its fillet radius

That said, I would go for the AMS 2.3RR over the Cosworth 2.2. If you are open to dealing with other shops, then the JAM 2.3 stroker would be my recommendation.

BTW, I checked with Aby and he said the Cosworth pistons used to be squeeze cast, but he's not positive that's still how they make them (he once worked there, but it has been awhile).

Hey Guys,

I have a AMS 2.3RR engine and a Cosworth 2.2 enginge.... both engines are great

I am reving the 2.3RR engine to 9550 rpm. when I am dragracing with it.

The Cosworth 2.2 engnie I am using in a daily driving Evo and I am reving it to 9.000 rpm.

If I should choose between these engines I will those the AMS 2.3RR engine with no doubt....

My fastet time is 9.30 @ 150 mph with the 2.3RR engine.

I hope you have good brakes, because at that speed, it won't take you long to run out of land in Denmark. That's what you deserve for having an abundance of naturally blonde women, a sex museum, good beer, aquavit, E85, and all those things that suck.

Maybe we can do some trading. . .

AMS just becasue all the testing that went behind that motor setup. And its track proven.

Cosworth im sure they use a engine dyno for there testing as they do with there F1 motors. Which i feel is not the same as having it in the car and taking it to the track for R&D. Not saying that dont do it. But at the same time it might be done on a test track vs actual tracks with far more range of tuning as not all tracks are ran on the same tune.

I can't verify this 100%, but someone who I consider a pretty reliable source of information recently posted here that the AMS 2.3RR uses a 4G64 block. Can anyone verify or disprove this?
