Green vs. Red
1, I'd like to see a dyno comparison of a daily driver that was tuned with a green, and then a red, to see the differenece of hp and spool. Which would be better with a daily driver with all the basic bolt-ons???
2. Also, I was thinking about doing the red, but w/o cams due to warranty. I recently had 5 gear replaced, and the warranty was still honored even though all the mods i had. I think i could still get away with it with the red, but def. not if i had cams. Any thoughts on power with a red w/o cams?

Here we go again.
Why would you do a turbo upgrade without upgrading the cams? You will gain optimal performance from the turbo when you upgrade the cams. I am actually very surprised that the dealership honored your warranty with performance-oriented modifications installed. Consider yourself lucky.
Lastly, ask one of the administrators here to move this to the Engine/Drivetrain/Turbo forum where this post belongs.

don't expect warranty claims if you mod your car, end of story.
However, I have a friend with 1000's and cossies, and they warrantied stuff on his car cause the motor was obviously not touched
On an IX, they're not gonna know.
To answer quesiton #1, SEARCH. Compile your own comparisons and start a thread about it, the info is HERE in this forum, you have to LOOK for it, not expect people to just show you. Do the community a favor and search for all of the green dyno graphs you can, and the associated mods for each car. Post dyno and mod lists of each, then repeat with the red. Put it all in one big post for the rest of the world to see. Contribute, don't leach.

I had my transfer case replaced under warranty after being on the 2nd clutch (and it was a 6puck). However I send my car to the dealership for most of the modding work too, that way it keeps them happy cause they still make money off me and they're happy to help me with warranty when they can. I'll prolly break another TC before warranty is over anyway so we'll see
just use the search button
to the OP no one has these turbos on a basic bolt on setup yet. FP is still pumping these things out so like the rest of this community you have to play the waiting game. FP hasn't even release specs on the red turbo yet so why would any of us know what your going to get.
Also, what makes you think the green is any different than the red appearance wise?!?! They are the same exact turbo for the most part, besides the wheel and the porting done to accomodate such a wheel. Both look stock if you look at a red installed and a green installed you would barely be able to tell the difference. If your going to upgrade your turbo, upgrade your cams. You put a bigger turbo on the car on stock cams your tq curve is going to fall flat on it's face.
It's been said before and it'll be said again if you want to keep your warranty don't touch your car, if you want to mod your car then forget you even had a warranty. Consider yourself lucky the dealer covered it the first time.

The red is an upgrade from the green. They are still going to make Green's so it's not a replacement. I heard from FP if you are going to DD and mostly run pump gas fuel, it's probably better to stick with the green.
I am still undecided as of yet and want to see more results/data before I decide to pull the trigger on a FP Red.
