Max psi using Greddy profec B spec 2 boost controller?

Tried searching, best I got was a thread pertaining to the Greddy Type S boost controller. Anyhow, I wanted to see if this boost controller is capable of boosting 38-40psi with a Tial 44mm WG and 1 bar spring. Looking for feedback from others using this EBC + external gates on how much psi you've been able to achieve. Thanks.

Based on Greddy's instructions, the Profec B spec 2 can control boost up to 43.5 psi.

See page #5 of the attached link to the manual.

if you approach 90+ % duty on the profect B sometimes it does some funny things. with the 1bar spring you shouldn't need to hit the 95 or more % duty though, but you never know.

the funny things i have experienced at those high dutys on stock wastegate actuator for the stock framed turbos is the boost building to 16psi or so, stopping momentarily, then building the rest of the way. i've narrowed it down 100% to the boost controller, and seen it in more then one controller. i'm not sure why it does it, but it does. haven't seen it on an external gate yet, but then again i haven't needed that much duty with that particular combination (profect B, 40psi, tial 44mm gate with 1bar spring)

So your saying if I hook up a EBC Profec b spec 2 to my stock evo turbo 9 with stock actuator, my car won't hold the boost well??? im trying to peak 28 and hold as close possible to this boost peak.. i run right now a Hallman MBC and it peaks 28 and falls fast to 20 on redline.. What you guys recommend..???

When my settings were off my greddy would act funny. If I did not set it to take over boost at wastegate pressure it would pause like that. I have hit 46.5 with a frayed wire on accident and 30-32 all day long with a stock 9.8cm evo8 turbo, then a FP red, and now a 3582.

A stock Evo9 turbo is going to fall off at redline. Using a ebc may help but will not be a "fix".

put a restrictor pill in it if needed that will give you a few more psi and a little less duty cycle.
if you need more boost safer get a turbo smart eboost 2 40 psi to 60 psi controller

I used the Profec B spec 2 for a while on my RX-8... its basically a piece of garbage imo. I tried a lot of various settings and was never able to keep boost steady without either crazy spikes or falling off. I've had the best luck so far with the Turbosmart MBC on the Evo. Boost drop off is common with the stock turbo though as previously mentioned.
