4G64 w/ MIVEC Head, What head gasket?

What head gasket should be used for this combination? I know everyone has done the EVO8 swap, but I can't confirm which head gasket will work for the EVO9Mivec head. I called today and Cometic claims they don't have an EVO 9 head gasket. I can't use off-the-shelf or factory gasket because I have an 87mm bore.

Any suggestions from someone who has this setup currently?

4G63 head gasket that's 0.050s thick, with whatever bore size you're going with. I did a 4G64 block with 4G63 head as well. Cometic is your friend.

Please read my original post.

-The OEM gasket won't work because I have an 87mm bore
-Cometic says they don't have an EVO 9 head gasket (that's why I called)

Anyone else know?

See above post. I went with a cometic headgasket. I went with a 4G63 headgasket pattern with the bore of a 4G64 (87mm) at 0.050 thinkness. You can do this too.

you already have a used evo 9 gasket...if you pulled your head off your short block, locate a used 8 gasket = works on 4g64 conversions, lay the 2 on top of each other, see whats different & modify accordingly....could be more than a oil passage hole or 2.

i think cometic are the only 87mm bore gasket avaialable....

good luck...

Works great in my 2.6L

Got mine from ExtremePSI

See now that you have the mivec head... is there really a difference in the headgaskets?

I have read some people having issues with the Cometic gaskets. What would be the reason for that?

you need cometic 87mm. don't keep using the stock size, head will eventually lift. Seen it happens in person.
