having some problems with boost

I have my EBC controller set to 19psi was working great then I started getting the boost reading 15psi. I replaced the stock actuator with a new Forge 18psi thinking the stocker might be weak, I switched the controller off and carried the car for a spin felt real nice then the same **** happen again 15psi WTF how is that possible if the forge lowest pressure to open is 18psi. If I am getting knock will the ecu pull back timing and cause the boost pressure to drop is that possible? or do you think I have a leak somewhere. Sometime I get my 19psi sometime I don't WTF is wrong.

do a boost leak test with an air compressor for starters.

im assuming you have stock turbo? if you do, go to home depot and go to the plumming section and buy a 2in to 2in coupler then get a flat top pvc plug that fits into the coupler then all you need is some worm clamps or t-bolts and a valve stem. drill hole in pvc plug and install valve stem and clamp it tight to one side of the coupler. then take your intake pipe off put coupler on turbo and use a air compresser to pressurize the system and listen for leaks. take it up to around 15-20 psi but make sure you have the coupler clamped down tight...there are more detailed instructions with pics on the forum just search for "boost leak tester"

oops forgot to reply to op. do a boost leak test first then if you find no leaks then i would try puttin a mbc on to see if its something to do with your ebc. if it does the same with the mbc then theres some other problems going on with the turbo itself poss. also you will want to make sure your boost gauge and ebc source line is good with no cracks or tears and secured properly. does the car feel slower, and what about your afrs? did your afrs change?

This is an incorrect assumption. The Forge WGA's are adjustable down to 11 PSI(base WG pressure). The Forced Performance H.D. actuator, on the other hand is billed as an 18 PSI unit.

List your complete modlist please. What turbo are you running exactly? Is it the stock turbo that came on your VII? 9.8 or 10.5 hotside? What gear are you checking boost level in?

Try running a length of vacuum hose directly from the turbocharger's compressor housing discharge tube nipple to the nipple on the WGA. Temporarily plug up all other uncapped vacuum hose ends.

Loosen the wastegate actuator rod by turning it out until it just slides freely on and off of the peg on the wastegate flapper valve. Do you get 11 PSI at this setting?

Fine. Now start shortening the actuator rod by spinning the turnbuckle on the end of the rod about 3 complete 360* turns. Now what boost level do you get? You should be at about 14 PSI. Yes or no?

update... it turn out to be the Greddy type RS I was running it was opening under boost... I pressurized the system and the BOV was leaking, I ended up buying a Forged type RS and now I am holding boost.
