axle help

i recently blew the clamp off the outbourd side of my axle. my question is can i just get a new clamp or do i have to get a new axle?

i think you can get a new clamp and boot....im not to sure. I do know you need a special tool to get it on/off, and i also believe that tool is big bucks...your better off getting a used axle

I'm sure you could get one. I would try going to auto zone or something like that and ask. As for a tool they might have something you could rent and when you return it, you get all your money back

New axle depends on how long the clamp was off, and if you lost any CV grease. In most cases you can get a CV axle boot kit at autozone for about 20$. No special tools needed, just clamps/crimps the band clamp on to the CV boot.
