when i spin it by hand, i hear almost no noise, just faint noise of the shaft spinning. it spins smooth.

after looking at the vid i gotta tell you my turbo sounds nothing like that....there is something definitely wrong with that turbo. That sounds like poop . There should be a slight noise but not that loud and grinding. Just talk to ETS, they will take care of you or atleast get you talking to the right people.

you sure that is your turbo? That almost sounds like Rod Knock lol I cannot see a turbo even with a messed up center cartridge sounding like that it sounds more like an engine noise. But its really hard to tell on a video because the mics on video cameras are so sensitive that close, good luck man I am sure Mike or Tom will be able to take care of you as they have helped me out very well in the past with other projects-JOEYD

Almost as if the bearing was going. There is only 4k miles on the turbo. I took the intake off and there is almost NO shaft play and when i free spin it i can hear it spinning and it is some what loud.... So my question is , is this normal or do i have a problem on my hands?

here is a link to a quick video

As we discussed over the phone, the best bet is to get it in to Precision and have them check it out. In the rare case of a failure, Precision is very good about honoring their warranty and quick turn around on a rebuild. While it doesn't sound "normal" it is hard to diagnose the problem remotely. Precision will be able to determine the cause of failure when they open it up and we'll go from there
