Question LOUD WHISTLE...real bad...

Had the clutch replaced today by a reputable dealer. Had to travel 90 miles to find one. I picked up the car just as they were closing, drove around the lot, clutch felt great. When I left a whistle began at 2800 rpm and screams as boost increases. This is not the *** syndrome, verified. The service department had scattered when I returned through traffic. I don't blame that, was late Fri. I have done a cursory check of all clamps and hoses, nothing appears loose. Any suggestions before a make a return trip next week. Boost tapers only a few Lbs, Forge MBC at 22.

The whistle is a real screech... so loud I can't drive it.

Go down a hill and stay out of boost. If whine increases with speed then it's the transfer case.If only happens under boost then most likely boost leak.

Thanks for sharing data. I just check the Tee Case, full. Downhill acceleration, no noise. Only starts at 2800 in as boost comes up on guage and gets worse and worse ... terrible sound. Will do more leak testing today. Thanks

How long was eventually? I'm now 90 miles from the dealer. By the way the clutch is ACT HDSS. Feels great.

It's unfortunate, but whenever u leave an Evo somewhere and then walk away, then the car becomes a big target for a fun JOY DRIVE by some that can only dream of having a great car. That's just my opinion.

i have driven ACT HDSS, Exedy Twin Disk HD, and Tilton Carbon/ Carbon

If u think ACT feels great, u gotta expand your horizions.

Exedy feels awesome compared to ACT, its a whole other level. Now only downside is that the exedy feels very stiff compared to stock clutch.

Now the Tilton Cabron/Carbon has no comparison

Do you have the stock intake box with the scoop thing? Make sure its fastened down, if not it can suck to the hood.

The car is daily driver, no drag strips, aggressive backroad fun, so I'm not interested in anything above the ACT. I does feels much better than stock. BTW, 93K on original clutch..... Just started taking everything apart, inspecting all tubing and clamps, vacuum etc... looking fine. TCase and Tranny are topped off with OEM fluids.
Thanks for the inputs. BTW, the snorkel is not an issue.... Warrtalon beat that to death years ago.

If its boost related sounds like you have a leak at your turbo outlet pipe
