If you've never taken a CV joint apart and aren't real mechanically inclined....I would let someone else do it. They are a pain if you don't know what you are doing.
You can probably get a boot kit from an Autozone or NAPA. Or you can take the axle to your favorite local repair shop and have them fix it. The boot kit should be like $10-$20 and it should only take someone who knows what they are doing about a 1/2 hour.

Try north of 600$ from the dealer
if you are from a shop.
List cost on a new axle here in New York is around 750$ new
I am not sure if you can just get a new joint or not but there is no way you are getting an oem axle for 300$ brand new.

Don't listen to these guys..Why waste money on a new axle if you can just replace the boot for 12-15$ ? Its a very easy fix. Now if you clicking later on that change the axle but I wouldnt just up and spend all of that money for a axle "just because".
Good luck

+1 on boot replacement. I've never even heard of a CV joint failing in a way that could hurt anything but the joint. Might as well ride out the one you've got. There's a VERY good chance you'll never have problems with it again. Just keep an ear out for that clikcing sound you hear when old FWD cars turn corners in parking lots.
