Good News for 1-2 Shift Problems...PENDING RECALL POSSIBLE!!!

Well...today I went to and had my recall notice taken care of. Took about 1.5 hours and they were chatting with me a little and I mentioned the 1-2 shift problem and were they going to look into it at the corporate. I quote "They are aware of the problem in a lot of the EVO's and there will MORE THEN LIKELY be a recall for that SOON!!!" I asked him how sure he was, and he said it's only a matter of time, and made it sound as if it won't be more then a few months. FINALLY something will get done about it

That is good news if it is truely a problem with the set-up. I don't know that I have the problem per se, I have missed a 1-2 shift a couple of times and often it feels real notchy going in. It would be nice to know that it wasn't completely the loose nut behind the wheel but maybe something they can remedy.

Shifter is a bit notchy, but that's okay by me...only time I've ever missed the 1-2 is when I came off the clutch too quickly...other than that, it's been great!

What if your 1-2 shift is fine but you have a 2-3 shift problem? Do you think that would fall under the same category? I've never had a 1-2 shift problem, but have always had a notchy 2-3 gear shift ever since I got the car. It never grinds or anything just notchy feeling.

If they are willing to improve or upgrade anything free of charge, it's ok with me. I am taking my car in for the emissions recall on Wednesday and they said it would take hours...

I hope they have somthing that will fix the notchy, clucky feeling I get when shifting into 2nd. and 3rd. and 4th. Maybe I will wait a while befor putting the new braided clutch hose on. Dont want these A holes telling me I voided my warrenty because I replace a clutch hose.

I took it in the other day for a tranny/oil change and had the test drive it. They said it was fine , didnt clunk or anything. I just hate it when my car does this, makes me cringe everytime it happens. Takes almost all the fun out of my car knowing my syncros are slowly wearing down with every clunk and notch I feel when shifting.

Mine shifts like crap 1-2 2-3 and 3-4...

They got the ok to replace 2nd gear in mine and are waiting for the parts to come in.... When they get the tranny apart they are gonna look at the other gears and the synchros for me...

I heard something about the parts being too soft ?? dont know

I havent had any problems with the 1-2 shift.. but two days ago I had a problem from 3-4 shifted fast from 3 to 4 and it didnt go in it was just solid not grind or anything, it happened twice,
I was turning quite a bit of rpms but that was the first time its happened.... i had my car in the shop for a trans problem back a few months ago. they replaced 5th gear and 5th gear synchro because of grinding.
