500WHP on Stock MAF&ECU

I was thinking about putting in either a FP red or BR HTA 35R in next spring but I wanted to know if I can achieve 500whp with the stock MAF without modifacation? I have seen a few guys on evom who have hit that number.

Thanks for the help

guys have hit 500whp with the stock maf, I think Smogrunner was one of the first to get it done a couple years ago but I'm not positive.

moving that much air threw the stock MAF you really have to be careful with the delicate honeycomb, I *almost* sucked mine in with a 35r and only around 24psi. a few guys have reinforced them with epoxy around the edges and it seems to be working...

Thanks all for the input. I just trying to make the right decisions before the sping comes back around. Besides with me getting married this December the kid will be following right behind within a year so i have to finish getting my car to the 500whp mark. So I can say I have a my hot smoking wife, healthy and beautiful child, motorcycle, and fast car.

I'm just about finished with two cars on the stock ecu/mas/block/head that are in the 500awhp area:

1 - Kuwait 91 octane 29psi HTA 35R, Driven Intake, HyperTune TB, HKS 280's - 502awhp 394tq (previously made 470/366 on stock intake and tb)

2 - USA 93 octane 26psi RNR header, Precision 35R, HKS 280's - 504awhp 398tq

Both are EVO 8's, the Kuwait EVO is probably just about maxed out but we're going to see if it's okay with a little more timing. The USA EVO seems like it has more in it but the injectors have seen as high as 104% IDC...I've since leaned it out a bit and we're down to 95% currently. I haven't even touched the boost or timing since my base map was installed. Just fuel tweaks so far. It's an autometer gauge and I suspect it's running more than 26psi since we're seeing 330kpa+ peak loads.

my own car did as much as 535awhp when it was cold outside but more recently did 500awhp and 420tq in the 95-100* heat.

getting ~ 500awhp on 93 octane with a 35R isn't hard IF you have the right supporting mods. I've had a few that couldn't pull it off and in both cases they had very quiet resonated exhaust and cats or high flow cats.

I have the usa evo 8 that chris (mellon) was talking about a couple posts up and to be honest with you the parts you need to make 500 are alot easier to get than finding a tuner who will put the time and effort into achieving a number like that safely. Mellon is 110% the way to go and i HIGHLY suggest anyone to go through him I went to Mellon hoping for about 450 after being told by numerous tuners that 420 on 93 was about max, especially with no meth, race gas and having stock maf and ecu. Were at 504 right now and the car feels amazing. Tuning in my eyes is the most important part as far as making good power goes and Mellon is the guy for the job!

I dynoed 439 on a Dynojet on pump at 24 psi. I would have ran moe boost but I was getting knock problems. I blamed it on the winter old gas that was in the car.
It still trapped 121.7 on that tune with fresh gas.

I road tuned the car at 29 psi on 100 oct. I havent dynoed it yet but i trapped 126.2 and hit the 8K limiter in 4th atleast 15ft before the traps.

Doesnt a 126 trap back up a 500 dynojet hp? Im goin to CBRDs dyno day on the 18th, so I guess Ill know what it equate to on an actually low reading Mustang.

The only thing I did to my MAF was put a few drops of super glue around it. Only because a few horror stories about people sucking the screens in. I didnt mod it in any way that effects the flow of it.
