Mine was a pain in the ***. I tried to get the bolt that holds the stock hard line to the turbo off without taking the manifold off...no luck. My wrench kept slipping off like the bolt was stripped. Needless to say I had to take the manifold off to get the line replaced. Once the manifold was off, it was quite easy. Looks nice and hope it protects my investment.

Thanks FP for taking care of me and the credit on my old line I purchased from you!

I know exactly what you are talking about as I just did this. I was able to get the bolt holding the stock hard line off with the manifold in place using an offset box end Craftsman wrench. It wasn't easy though. Took about an hour for that one bolt! Getting the banjo lined up and started on the center section without dropping a crush washer also was challenging. The worst part by far is getting the banjo to seal at the head because the diameter of the banjo fitting is so close to the diameter of the crush washer. I think the diameter of the fitting is like 10mm and inner diameter of the crush washer is about 9.5mm. You need to be really careful to center the outer edge of crush washer on the fitting and even then getting it to seal is tricky. You don't want to overtighten a banjo and risk cracking the bolt or, worse, stripping the head, but you also don't want a leak from too little pressure on the crush washer.

I think Nils' wife must be some mechanic! (see above post)

On my line I was able to get the banjo bolt and crush washer to seal with no problem. It was the line that screws into the fitting that leaked on me. I will be returning mine to FP to see if my line can be replaced.

A tad bit of axle grease on those washers will secure it just enough so it doesnt fall...old trick I learned working on F-15s where half the bolts with washers you replace are like this...adapt and overcome lol...My motto for being an F-15 mechanic. the evo is cake to work on compared to fighter jets!

I really wish Forced Performance would have mentioned the benefit of this at the time of my fp red purchase through them.

Just for future thought, you guys should try to upsell this on every turbo order

Where was my mind when I purchased my Red and didn't get this? Just placed an order with 4 replacement filters as well. Havn't installed the turbo yet so I guess that guaruntee made on the site is still good for me:

Our Promise to You:

FP turbocharger customers who use the FP4ANFilter on their FP turbos for the entire service life of the turbocharger will NEVER pay for a turbo repair resulting from oil contamination. This promise protects you against oil contamination only and does not extend to failures due to insufficient oil supply, plugged filter, excessive EGT, failure to connect coolant lines to the turbo, or blade damage resulting from fingers, rags, O2 sensor pigtails, boost controller vacuum lines, stray washers or small rodents that may get sucked into the turbo or object such as valve, valve guide or piston chunklets that may get spit out of the engine.

FP turbo customers who have used the FP4ANFilter for the entire service life of the turbocharger should send in a copy of the original invoice showing the simultaneous purchase of the FP4ANFilter and the FP turbo that is being presented for servicing or repair in order to benefit from this oil contamination protection promise.

Good stuff guys!

I already have a -4an ss braided line that came in my turbo kit. But what size banjo fitting would I need to make this filter/restrictor work and bolt to my head? 10mm or 12mm?

in other words....what size of these do I need to bolt to the head : http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Lancer-TurboHW
