let me clear things up, I want to eliminate my intercooler, I plan on running 100% meth injection w/ 93 octane as a primary fuel.

It wouldn't be any kind of weight reduction if you aren't already running meth... In fact, I am positive you'll add weight removing the I/C and shortening piping when you put your kit in. ESPECIALLY w/ a full fuel cell of meth (mix or otherwise).

That being said, I am kind of interested in running no I/C if E85 does cool it like DS-03evo says!

Well the fuel cell weights next to nothing, im only going to run a 1- 1.5 gals at most at a time. My core weight quite a bit so i'd say i'd def be saving weight along with much quicker spool

With the e85 I don't think you'd be able to do it since the IAT is going to be so high before combustion.

Scorke,

So if you use straight meth you can make the most power but if you mix you get a nice power increase but also a much cooler charge.

What do you intend to use your car for? Sounds like you are making your setup more complicated than it needs to be, especially if your goal is weight reduction. If anything upgrade your intercooler so that you have cooler charge air at all times instead of just when the meth is spraying. Otherwise, run a meth kit in conjuntion w/ an upgraded intercooler.

Meth cools the charge as well, it just so happens that the cooling properties of water are better than meth at cooling the intake charge.

When cooling the intake charge you are effectively making the air more dense, and therefore getting more air in the cylinder with each stroke.

Meth makes the most power because not only are you adding something that cools but also something that acts as fuel, which allows you to run more boost with the same octane or same duty cycleso n the inector.

I do not know how much the difference in IAT's differ from running a 100 meth to a hybrid mix but I would reason to guess the meth/water combo would offer lower IAT's but less headroom on things like knock resistance than straight meth because the cool air can only mask so much while the fuel from the meth can take a lot more thrown at it.

* I do not use meth, just know lots of people who do and have picked a couple heads in terms of deciding the best way to use it depending on the application.

Stock FMIC is ~10 lbs

Water is about 8 lbs per gallon.

A typical ShurFlow pump is easily 2 lbs.

I have the Race FMIC thats 4" thick, it weights quiet a bit and a Turbonetics 60-1 hifi. Im going for extremely quick spool up also. My plans in the future include a stroker kit so b/t the 2.3L and minimal IC piping I should have a TQ monster. This car is not a daily driver, it's a 04 w/ 15k on it.
