Running strait meth no IC
Running strait meth no IC
I was thinking about trying it out. Running strait meth NO IC will not only offer better performance over the stock IC it will be some weight reduction.
This is not a daily driver.
Discuss please:

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong but my friend Abner(slowcar) was telling me in person or over the phone like almost a couple of years ago about doing straight methanol and elimination the IC. His plan was massive methanol and super fast spool up, I am not sure if he ever even mentioned publically but I recall hearing this topic..
It would be worth at least PM him. I told him he was nuts(sarcastically speaking) but on the same note he is the right person to ask.

Well i think between 93 and low boost (22 psi) + 50/50 and c16/q16 and high boost (30+ psi) + 50/50 everything will work out. I will contact him. I think im just going to go for it and see what happens, I already have the meth kit now I just need to get 1 more solenoid and bigger jets.

Ok i started ordering parts today ill let you guys know how it turns out.
Im going to be running 2 nozzles, 1 right after the turbo and 1 6" from the TB, Im going to use a large nozzle right b/f the TB, what size nozzle should I use? Im going to buy an assortment, but what do you guys think a good starting point.
What size nozzles are you guys using meth + ic using ?

dogboxraceing is a vendor on this sit. Im pretty sure they aren't going to tell you everything but I believe you need a twin rail intake manifold to feed the need and a fuel cell up front or somewhere for the methanol. The manifold will be ice cold with just he methanol it really is amazing, god luck I ill be checking on this thread to see how it prgresses-JOEYD

Sounds good, yea I already have the fuel cell so I should be in good shape. Between the added octane from the meth and the quick spool up I should be able to make some really good number on the track and on the dyno (tq)

This isn't too clear.
You are not talking about running 100% methanol. You are talking about running gasoline with methanol injection.
FWIW, the import Hotrod class progressed from intercooled gasoline -> non-intercooled methanol -> intercooled methanol
But that was as the primary fuel and not supplemental injection. Methanol as a primary fuel seems to have quite the steep learning curve. Right about when hotrod went over to methanol was when the winner was typically decided by who could get the car down the track and not who was the fastest. Even the big guys like GM started out with lots of engine failures.
