Need advice on mods
so I have a 2006 MR with 14,800 miles and I'm getting ready to do my first wave of mods, ive been researching alot and made the search button my new best friend, so far car is stock, except a piggyback that gives me no-lift-to-shift, amsoil motor oil, bone stock everything else, I'm planning on picking up:
GReddy Ti-C comp 80mm turboback
evopowermods 02 housing
injen intake w/ upper and lower IC pipes
ETS FMIC
walbro 255
GReddy profec Bspec II
Wideband
With those mods can I drive the car untuned on stock boost ? As long as my afr's dont go crazy lean or rich I wouldnt see a problem
I also live on long island so it would make sense for me to go to sean ivey
But if he dyno tunes I heard that'll drastically decrease the life of my clutch, how long with that 360whp setup (give or take) will I have to change the clutch before it blows without launching it ? I'm looking to get an excedy twin disc around Christmas time... Thanks for any feedback anyone might have, any help would be much appreciated

Those mods look good. But to save yourself a little money I would ditch the Profec. Just bolt all those parts on, drive to Ivey's place and have him tune the ECU for you.
Also at that power level the oem clutch should last a long time with no drag launches.
Good luck in your modding.

Ha, money already spent, bought the profec last year for my SRT-4 but car got totaled before I had a chance to install it, it reads boost pressure in real time so it'll serve as my boost gauge also for the time being, otherwise I woulda just picked up a hallman pro
You could drive the car untuned, but I would highly recommend tuning the car. The car is going to feel like a pig with an upgraded pump and no tune.
Great list of mods! Thanks for the support!

I suggest getting the WB first along with a good logger (personal choice is Innovate with LogWorks but others are just as good WB wise). Then get a cable with ECUFlash.
Start your logging when car is still bone stock so you can have some good baseline logs for a starting point (never seen one myself). Do alot of reading in the meantime (specific evo applications, internal combustion, tuning, etc) and when your ready for your first bolt-on, see what was changed.
Purchace a generic tune from ttp, mellon, or whoever and see what was changed and why. As you gain exp and HP and spend money you have alot of fun

Everything sounds fine except that if you drive your car hard at all I wouldn't expect the stock clutch to hold for very long if you go with the meth kit or just if your putting out almost 400whp/tq but I'm not saying that people haven't been able to make it hold up

yea i think thats why ill hold off on meth till after i get the clutch and suspension mods (not dropping the car, but stiffening the chassis for consistant launches along with Perrin's anti-lift kit) so ill take my time and put aside more $ for the clutch

I saw your race evo at the NYSRTCrew picnic and I was impressed with your work... I had the apex silver IX MR SE parked in the first row of SRT's by the pavilion, my boy won the gift cert you donated to the raffle, I'm looking forward to getting the IC and seeing the new stuff your coming out with... Keep up the good work and thanks for the help !
Not a problem! I'm glad you had the chance to see the car in person, the pictures do not do the car justice.
If you need any help deciding which intercooler to go with let me know!
Thanks!
Michael
