Head rattle/tap help

Hey all. I have an 06 evo se and theres a loud tapping coming from the head. My oil indiactor light comes off and on randomly but the oil level is fine. With car parked, if i tap the gas i hear the loud rattle. What could this be. Could i of bent a valve? I 2 stepped the car a few hours before but didnt hear the noise until i reached home. Its hard to explain but its a lous loud rattle/tap comin from the head. Anyone have any ideas?

also it doesnt happen at idle, It only happens over 2000 rpms. Its definetly an internal noise.

Hmm..Wellllll..This is same wiht my car. Pretty sure it's a spun bearing also. I have not really touched the car in the past month as I don't really care to have it fixed right now. Winter is coming up and the car was going to be sitting anyways.

the noise is in the head. i thought if it was a spun bearing the noise would be heard in the short block.

You will hear it on the head because bearings are changing oil pressure so the lifters will tap too. If this is the case every minute of engine operation is adding to the extent of damage.

Expect the worse first to be safe, but tap due to glogged lifters usually .happens at idle from my experience. Noise under load means the bearing to journal clearance is overcome from pressure indicating wear

Good luck, dont drive until it's figured out

i wouldn't drive your car man. It will turn to rod knock before long if it is indeed a spun bearing..

pull your pan and check.

I also have a loud noise from the head, it is only audible after 2000 rpm, not at idle, it is only heard when warmed up. When I cruise the noise comes, when a little more throttle is applied the noise goes away. Could this be a bearing also? I hope it is a bad lifter, I still have to bleed them and check if it goes away.

+1 on removing the oil pan for checking for a spun bearing.

I still have a noise, seems to be coming from the head, you can hear it whenever you apply some throttle, slightest touch of throttle and the ticking noise comes, never heard on deceleration. I drove like 200 miles with this noise, the noise did not get worse, could it still be a bearing?? I will flush the oil next weekend to see if it is contaminated from bearing material. If you have a bad lifter, you would hear it also at idle right?? I don't have any ticking at idle. Please advise.
