oil from downpipe after FP green install?

After a long project almost a year long (suspension, aero, and some other bolt-ons), I attempted to finally start the Evo today...

Filled fluids etc, primed the motor by disconnecting ignition coil packs and started her up. She seemed to be doing just fine and all of a sudden I notice a leak from between my downpipe and exhaust...

I assumed its condensation and go to wipe it off and its oil!!!!!!!

OMGWTF - I am not sure whats causing this, but it can't be good. Turbo is a brand new FP green from FP...I am guessing oil seals are bad.

I did a boost leak and did notice that I had some oil in the 02 housing 3 weeks ago and people said its coz turbo seals havent seated...

Could that be the issue?

Am not sure where to start looking for a resolution on this matter! Thanks!

Did you check the oil return line?

what do you mean? For a leak? Yes, it was just fine. Like I said, it was coming out of the downpipe where it meets the catback exhaust. 100% sure of this.

I took the downpipe off and could feel oil in the FP 02 housing as well as inside the downpipe as far as I could reach....

check the oil lines at the turbo and engine maybe theyre leaking. maybe some oil just dripped or something and its no big deal or maybe some oil passed through the turbo to the dp

I'd be happy to go over this with you on the phone, but to start off your seals cant "go bad". The seals cant get damaged or destroyed until the bearings get so loose that the blades start to rub the housings. The seals also do not need to "seat in" or anyhting like that either. They also cannot hold back a oil that backs up in the drain tube for one reason or another (overfilled crankcase, dip in drain tube, sludge in draintube, silicone dingleberry on gasket in drain tube etc) turbo seals also wont hold back more than about 3psi of crank case pressure. The nice thing is that if you find a blockage and correct it, you havent hurt the turbo, just made a little mess.

Hi Robert - Thanks for the reply.

Firstly, I hope you didnt see this post as me bashing you guys in any way. You, Aniel and Amber have been nothing but good to me.

I have taken extreme caution with this build. I was very careful installing everything. I didnt use any silicone pn the drain tube, just new mitsu gaskets. I am wondering now if you are saying I should have, though. I have no leaks yet, although that return line was a PITA to put on. I am running a full-race pro-stock manifold and it seems like it was just a little harder getting it on.

I am sensing you think I have a blockage of some sort. I can drain oil and check - I removed the red caps to install all of the lines. I also used a brand new IX install kit from you.

I will let you know what I find and call you...

Thanks!
