cross reference for stock spark plugs

I've been looking for other sparkplugs that will work with our engine and came up with 2. Denso IW22 and NGK BPR7EIX
The Denso's are $12 each and the NGK's are $7. Has anyone tried these plugs or am I going to me the guniea pigs?

trying to look for an alternative besides going to the dealership to get plugs, cuz we all know how FAIR their prices are.

Right now I'm running Bosch copper plugs and have noticed less "pep" and misfires at higher boost (anything over 14~15 lbs)

The stock plugs are pretty trick looking, 13K of hard miles and mine looked really good (must be the iridium tips). Why are you replacing them? How many miles? My experience with small displacement high output motors has been that spending a couple extra bucks for good plugs, is money well spent.
I plan to go with the stock plug, may be one heat range cooler after the fuel computer. The stock plugs appear to be a 7 heat range so maybe an 8 heat range for the same plug, if they make them?

Get the HKS 45G series. They are heat range 8 and will help reduce knock (slightly).

The stockers are very good though. Dont swap out for a copper plug. Ive tried the NGK BPR8ES and BPR8ES and they just didnt cut it... Ive tried gappings from .024 to .028 and the copper plugs just didnt seem to run as smooth as the Iridiums...

Don't feel too bad, I bought a set of NGK Iridiums for my wife's WRX, then I broke one while gapping and I had to order 5 more (1 to replace the broken one and another set for next time)...

The damn tip is so small, heh.

I may try them on my EVO at 15k miles or so. Any reason why you are changing plugs for your evo? Trying a colder range? How much mileage?

In the past, I always used NGK or Bosch coppers (Integra GSR and an Audi A4 1.8T), but I think I'll def use Iridium for my EVO and our WRX.

Take care,

FB

Well, I want to go a range colder since I increased the HP by about 100 and figured that a colder range wouldn't hurt. Taking a look at the stock plugs showed that I'm running slgihtly lean at top end, but I'm running about 11.5/1 air/fuel so I wanted to try colder plugs.
