FIC injectors: Am I being paranoid?

Ok. So I got my FIC 1050cc injectors in the mail today. I open up the bubble wrap to inspect the injectors. I look down inside the orifice and didn't like what I saw. It's hard to explain but I'll try. Ok. So the deepest part of the orifice is a little disk thing. There is a raised ring around the disk. Here is what my problem is. You know how when you grind down metal, the grinded portion is shinier than the untouched portion. The disk thing and the raised ring look like that. It's like all 4 of the injectors have different amounts of metal shaved off. 1 looks likely barely any material was taken off, 1 has uneven shaving on the ring portion only and the other 2 has metal taken off both the disk and the ring around it.

Would this affect the performance of the injectors in any way? Am I just over paranoid? I don't like taking chances on things like this. There's a flow matching sheet that came with the injectors. The sheet says all 4 injectors spray exactly 1068cc/min at 43.5 psi. I find it hard to believe that all 4 injectors flow exactly the same. I've seen flow sheets from RC Engineering and all the injectors did not flow exactly the same and they are one of the top injector companies.

Edit: Here is a link from the FIC site. It shows flow testing of a customer's FIC injectors. Even after cleaning, not all 4 injectors flow exactly the same. More reason I can't believe the flow sheet on the injectors I got.

I have had bad experiences with FIC on numerous occasions.. The only injectors i will use in my car and a customers car are Precision.. RC are good also dont get me wrong but i prefer Precision injectors.. I have seen FIC lock open and hydrolock a motor, I have seen them lock shut, etc..

I've used them numerous times and never had an issue. Used them on customer cars as well and never had one problem. I've got a set of 1050's at the shop going on my car. I'll look to see if the exhibit what you talking about.

the issue is that those injectors are not precision tested to the extent the RC and Precision Turbo test their product. those things are all matched to within 1% of each other and sold as a set of 4, 6 or 8.

The flow sheet that came with my 1050's show they were matched to .73%. I'd say that's pretty much the definition of precision

Both FIC and Precision sell Delphi injectors, which are a highly regarded, ball-type (low mass) unit. Buy from whomever you like. You're getting the same thing - and a very good thing at that.

I was just paranoid. Called FIC up today. Jenz seems like a pretty cool guy. Answered all my questions and reassured me that there is nothing wrong with the machining. If Ted B says they are good injectors, that's good enough for me.

I hope so as well. I plan on buying FIC 1050's because my tuner likes them, and knows how to make them work well on a stock ecu. so i will keep my fingers crossed too......

They are not always the same.. Look at the 1600's from FIC.. they are white tops which i have seen issues 1st hadn with on 2 occasions.. Precision sell the Blue Top which i have never ever had an issue with.. FIC is around the corner and if thought they were the same i would sell them as i could make a lot more $$$ on FIC.. I choose not to because i have seen them fail 1st hand multiple times..

I like the way the FIC injector seal kit works better than the Precision.

Between my friends and I we have well over 100K miles on FIC injectors. They work great IMO.

My tuner mentioned the spray pattern was really good on the FIC. And again, if you are on a stock ecu, he knows how to make big 1050's work well at idle.
