Vaccum at Idle on boost Gauge

Vaccum at Idle on boost Gauge

I searched around and couldn't find anything exactly like the issue I am having. This morning I noticed that at idle the boost guage was reading a 10 vaccum, which is much more than normal. While driving it will only spike to about 10psi. The MBC is set to peak at 25psi. I am thinking it has to be a boost leak but wanted to check with the experts before I start troubleshooting? Thanks for the help.

yea...check the lines directly around your boost controller first...also where they connect to the controller sometimes those screws come loose...i recall one time mine were.

My vacuum only reads a max of 5.6 with the hks EVC VI. hmmm

Yeah, most likely boost leak. Since it is high vacuum and low on boost.

Do a vac leak test..

im sure one of your lines is messed up.. if not check you TB seal.. Mil Spec has some high pressure ones out 18 bucks for 2 i recommend them!

Don't forget that you car will draw more vac at high idle, rather than regular idle.

I've checked all of the IC piping and the MBC hoses, didn't find anything that wasnt tight. Is it possible to have a blown turbo? What would be the symptoms of that?

I am also experiencing my vacuum at idle is at a steady 10. I am new to the turbo world and don't know much, but as soon as I get back from the field I will check to see if I have any leaks. But I would like to hear any other possibilities on what it could be.

Yeah mine chills at 9-10 vac but hits 24psi just fine at full throttle. So no boost leak here.

Does the boost guage read -psi or inHg at vaccum? Different guages read different this will be a big help...

My MBC is set to 25psi and my vac at operating temp idle is 10 in/HG and spikes to like 15 in/HG while driving. If the vac isn't back to 10 in/HG or pretty close to it when I disengage the clutch the car stalls. Is this indicative of a boost leak or vac leak?

Mine is inHG also and I read 10 at idle, however I also have cams and boost fine...
