2.3 35r 880cc injectors need help confused
i got a 2.3 stroker afi 35r turbo kit with cosworth 272 cams and 880 injectors... the shop that built it and base map tuned it said there is no way i can use the stock ecu to tune my car i need to get a stand alone and that i should not drive the car till i get the aem stand alone... so the car has been parked other shops have told me i can tune open source or use ecu-tek and i will have no problem with drivability where it bogs out cause of mas air flow sensor
what should i do park it till stand alone or have some other shop tune it

I guess I should follow it up with, If I had to redo my car, the aem is something I would have done.
I have driven in my car with a custom flash and a similiary built evo with a 30R and the aem and his car drove 10X smoother than mine.
I just did not want to spend the money on the AEM

I have a stroker, 880cc Injectors and 37r w/ S2 Cams and ran stock ecu. I just switched to AEM, I can say AEM is ALOT smoother but with a good tuner your car will made mid 500's-600whp on racegas on stock ecu.

I have an evo by me running the bushcur HTA35R kit with big cams and 880's and its an animal on stock ecu. Definitely need different tuner. My tuner will be doing my car with 1050's soon. Will it be a nice as an AEM....No, but it will work, and pass my NY inspections without re wiring my car.....
I ran a 2.3 ltr HTA35R, 1000cc intrs,on the stock ECU, and I had no issues. The car is currently on BR's 272 cams and indy's V2 intake 1200cc injtrs, and a HTA37R. The car isn't tunned yet, but it's still running fine. Idles alittle high due to the 1200cc inj, but no issues. car drives fine off of the 1000cc tune.
Get rid of those 880s and get a set of 1000s.

Be patient, find someone who knows how to tune a factory ECU, and keep the $3000 (AEM + tuning) in your pocket.
