lifter tick after oil change

lifter tick after oil change

I changed the oil the other day in my 03 evo.

I used royal purple 10w-30
The filter is a mobile 1 model 1-108

anyway, I've noticed the usual lifter tick has increased quite a bit. Is it due to too thin of oil? Bad filter?

The new filter I put on was smaller then the old one. Would this affect anything?

did you have cams installed before oil change?

nope. here's my mod list... but this was done a long time ago..

the car only has 34,000 miles

Turbo XS Intercooler
HKS SSQ Recirc Blow off valve
AMS Intake
HKS Downpipe
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust
Tein Springs
HKS Turbotimer
Go Fast Bits Manual Boost Controller
Autometer Boost Gauge

Are you sure it's a lifter tick? It may just be your injectors? Maybe you just need to bleed the lifters though.

Me too but I have cams. They have always been installed never had a problem until I swaped my turbo and put ****ty oil in the car the the tick started so I drained and put in mobile 1 10w30 and tick still their but I didnt change the filter do you guys think I should redrain it and change the filter also

I'm just guessing it was the lifters... thats what it sounds like anyway..

if it is ticking it should go away after driving for a while. Happened to me last winter when it was cold and i changed my oil

it's your lifters...different oils are not all equal

I'll stick with AMSOIL no lifter tick and no problems

I got it fixed it was an exhaust I forgot to tighten all the bolts when I dona my turbo swap and it was laeking sound like an exhaust under the hood ounce I had a chance to listen form the front while my friend revved it
