Whats a fair price to pay for a built evo head? I am going to be doing a swap onto an eclipse and i was curious at how much im looking at in parts.

Built meaning valvetrain or with portwork?? usually 2200 or so for ported and valvetrain heads w/o a core..

 

idk if i would get it ported but used is fine, basically say someone wrecked their evo and was parting it i want the head and cams and what not

 

depends on what you want in the head

 

rods and pistons too i think, plus intake manifold and the few other surrounding parts

I think you have some reasearch to do. Go on the dsm forum and ask around, or SEARCH.

You say built head, but you also say if someone wrecked their evo and was parting it out. By built do you just mean assembled? Or do you actually mean a built head?

 

How/why do you plan on doing this? You do realize the engine is flipped in the EVO, the head will physically fit on a DSM block but the intake and exhaust ports will be on the wrong sides. This means alot of things, such as different cams, backwards pistons, different timing marks,... The EVO intake ports also have no fuel injector holes since the EVO intake manifold has the holes on it, whereas a DSM injector feeds into the head itself.
