each companies cams are different. there are some 272's that are more aggressive than other companies 280's. 264's are to mild. id suggest some hks 272's or somethign similar

You might want to order it atleast a month and a half earlier then when you want it.

i run my red on a stock intercooler and it still made great power....but you need cams, ic, injectors to even get good power out of the red especially on the VIII

You really shouldn't be thinking about going to bigger turbo yet.

Cams, tbe, fuel pump, boost controller and retune are going to give you a great gain, especially upgrade cams for evo8 will yield you most gain. After all these then look into bigger turbo.

You should really do a few things to your car first.....a lot actually! HKS 280's, (don't waste your time on HKS 272's) or Kelford 272's are awesome bang for your buck on the stock valvesprings/head components. Then you need more fuel, so swap in a walbro 255 like everyone else does and some biggger injectors, FIC 850's are or 1050's would be great, depending on whether you plan on sticking to gasoline or going E85. If you stick with gasoline, you'll want something to run some decent boost on that turbo, so you get the most out of it, so get an aquamist HFS-1 alky kit, and a big nasty-*** FMIC like perrin, AMS, or Buschur RACE core. Don't forget the piping. Finally, port your exhaust manifold and get a SS o2 housing to go with the FP RED, but then again you SHOULD do ALL of this stuff on the stock turbo before you even think about the red, because there's an EASY 100whp to get over and above your current setup w/o the expense and wait for a red. Once you get all of this stuff and a bishin tune, buy the red, bolt it on, and then start breaking stuff

You know, I left off some stuff....like a MBC...you already have one of those, right? I only say this because this post really belongs in the NEWB section...building up a car for a bigger turbo is spelled out over and over and over and over on these forums...you searched already, right?

Here is a thread I made on my Red, includes my Mod list and dyno: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=373823

All the mods listed, that way you can have an idea of what is working for my VIII, and you can do something similar for yours when you are ready.
