you can easily pass the 400whp on a red and no meth...

 

if you really want to take the easy road just get a 35r

 

not an easy road considering the price of a 35r kit...get the red, injectors, and a retune and your set.

 

Bolt ons, FP Red, and a good tune.

 

400 with a green on pump can be done but it's a tall order and most cars won't do it without every supporting mod under the sun. However with the Red is not very hard to do. I have a customer sitting at 410awhp with only 22.5psi and hks 272 cams, fmic, tbe ...very basic setup and we're not done tuning it either but he hit the track the other night and it went 11.7 @ 117. I'm sure we'll find more in it after he sends back the next round of logs.

 

I made 376/357 last weekend on a lower reading Mustang dyno with only a 1000cc injector and E85 tune change in mods. I know with a bit more carefully thought out moding list evo IX's can definetly hit 400whp on stock turbo. Heck I might even hit it with good porting all around on stock cams/headstuds/internals!

 

f*ck meth i made 392 on 93, e85 is the way to go, i got simple boltons gsc cams and 1000cc injectors. Made 418whp and 419tq on mooresville mustang dyno

 

theres no point in trying and putting the stress on the stock turbo like that, if you want to do it easily then full bolt-ons and get an fp red or green. or run meth on the stocker but for pump i would upgrade the turbo to have a safe 400 whp car.

 

Yes, Aby has done it on 91 with an AEM and EvoGreen. He put down 415whp IIRC on a DynoJet on 91 pump gas. THat's his everyday tune...then again, Aby seems to get more power out of his car than many others.

You'll need more aggressive cams than the HKS bumpsticks. Aby has every bolt-on known to man plus Cosworth M2 Evo 8 cams and an aftermarket SMIM. The Cosworths offered huge gains in the midrange and upper rpms (like 20+ whp) over the GSC S1's

 

A lot of the answer are saying that they acheive the numbers with Meth, but the OP wanted to get 400 WHP with just Pump, so it doesn't really help him.

I also want 400whp on pump as well, but here in CA, we only have 91 oct so I doubt it if it's possible without upgrading to the Green or Red.

 

I'm waiting for my Red, but a friend of mine made 524WHP@487TQ on a mustang dyno here in Orlando with race fuel with the Red and all the bolt ons no meth, and 430+WHP on pump no meth on an Evo 8.

 

I posted a dyno sheet of an evo 9 on 93 pump that hit 407whp....so most ppl are just reading the op and not through the thread. With an engine that's still in great shape (compression-wise, etc...) and all the right bolt-ons (cams, tbe, o2 housing/dump, fmic, ic pipes, etc...) and above all, a great tune...it's doable on the stock turbo.

Yeah, I think you're one of the very few that actually post number of 400+whp on pump and stock turbo.

What kind of cams (duration/lift) was on the car?

Also, I think 400whp with stock turbo on pump as is doable on the MIVEC/Evo IX engine. For the Evo VIII, even with the IX turbo. 400whp on pump is just a day dream number. Am I wrong?

 

With Meth you provably would had done 420-430hp and around the same with Tq. So dont be confused.
