Chris, once again Thomas has come through with an awesome build! I know how you must be feeling puttering around town trying not to get into boost, after he rebuilt my motor it was hard for me not to get into boost! I'm still rocking the stock turbo and 2.0 with forged internals but I just "acquired" a complete 2.4 setup from a 2000 Galant. I'm leaning toward the 2.2 similar to yours. I'll let you know how it goes. I look forward to coming home and visiting with everyone again.

Cool Josh, it'll be nice to see you and the ride again. Yup. Modified Import Repairs is the only place I take the evo when it's above my level. It's always nice to ride around with three evos. Although I figure with Thomas', you, and I in our seperate cars on the street, somebody is getting a ticket

Get your 2.1 or 2.2 on baby

Hey Chris,

Great work with your setup. It looks great and I can't wait to see some "post run-in" results. Good to see you went TS too...

Would you mind telling me what length rods you're running in that setup? If you don't know the length, maybe the part number and I'll go look it up?

Thanks!

Since I went with alittle more stroke with the 94mm crank I did a stock measured 150mm rod. From what I understand, I could have went with the longer 156mm rod if I would have went with the 88mm stock crank, but this motor I have now is an attempt to get the best of both worlds. I figured alittle stroke and the assistance of twin scroll should make things nice, an still be able to spin the mess out of it.

Yes. Man have we got issues. The motor worked great. No knocking issues due to the 4G64 2.2ltr set-up. The car was on the dyno for 5.5 hrs. I'm still using the Stock ECU and MAF-T Pro. I updated the box from 4.89 to 5.03. Bruce started tuning with TunerPro RT and adjusting the VE tables of MAF-T Pro box. Then had to rescale the ECU. Just getting the car ready for tuning was I know a bit of work. He really only got to tune in for 20 mins. We had already ran over the time they had allotted for me. The car made 438.9. Bruce said that it was just something to drive on until he can have a chance to get it back on the dyno again. So now I have a safe tune where I can step on it, but it's only a base map on pump gas for now. We'll get it back on later on for a better pump gas map later, and then maybe turn the boost up a little after that.

I'll get back on later to tell you my thoughts from the 2.3 ltr vs. 2.2ltr. So it was 439.7 at 22psi.

I forgot to get the boost\AFR plot. but here is the dyno sheet.

Pump gas with both at 22psi.

Before

After

Later on we're going to tune it out to red line. The turbos sweet spot is 35-45 psi. So At 22psi, the turbo is walking, not running. We'll turn it up next time. Remember, this is my safe to drive tune. I'm not saying I'll get another 80whp out of it once I get go back. I think bruce said we'll settle on 26 psi on pump.

I know I need an AEM of rthis combo, but hey, I already have the stock ECU.
