MAF gone bad?

I was working on my car the other day, went to go clean the filter, popped off the filter to find my Honey Comb on the MAF looking like this

i took some pictures of it, not knowing if this was normal?? I later on went to AWD Motorsports and replaced the Filter with a K&N but forgot to ask Mike if it was normal.

What do you all think?

you can glue it in but we forewarned that it will alter the airflow signal and you'll need to tune it again.

I'm thinking about doing that on purpose to lower the load seen by the ecu...I'm pegging it at 380kpa with the 35R

Get a new one and carefully remove the screen out of the housing. Put epoxy where the honeycomb sits and reinstall it back into the housing.
Then you will not block any of the honeycomb holes, too alter the AF ratio.

That is what I did.

I removed mine as well. I have heard that a lot of people do that anyway.
